MITCHENALL FAMILY HISTORY

Born in Biddenden on the 10th August 1889, Herbert was the oldest of William Joshua's children. He married Annie Williams in Lee in 1916, by which time he had 6 younger brothers and sisters.

Herbert was a master printer - this is recorded on the 1939 census when he was living at 67 Leyland Road, Lewisham. His wife and 15 year old daughter Nancy were then living with him.

​

Herbert (Bert) is remembered as the family organist, and played at the weddings of family members. His church was St Augustine's, Grove Park, Lee.

​

He was still living in Lee (92 Eltham Road) when died in June 1959, leaving his estate to his widow Annie.

His daughter Nancy and her husband Harry Myers lived with Herbert and Annie in the early years of their married life,
