MITCHENALL FAMILY HISTORY

Florence Alice was born on Christmas Eve 1888.

​

She was the only one of her parents three daughters to live past 5 years old.

​

She was baptised on 3rd March 1889 at Christ Church Gipsy Hill, and as the eldest child, would have shared the joy and grief of her siblings births and deaths,

She married Alfred Herbert Wiggins in 1918, before which she lived with her parents at 147 Gipsy Road,

​

Alfred and Florence then resided at 18 Auckland Hill, about 5 minutes walk from her parents home. They had a two children, a daughter, Marjorie Odette, born in 1920, and a son Geoffrey, born in 1927.

 

Florence's father died in 1923, and then her mother in 1947. Alfred and Florence continued to live in Auckland Hill until Alfred died there in September 1962. He left his wealth of £8803 pounds to Florence and Geoffery, then recorded as a veterinary surgeon.

After Alberts' death in 1962, Florence seems to have moved to Pagham, near Bognor Regis, where she died in December 1980 - leaving £33418. It is not recorded who the beneficiaries were in the records I have.
